- Renmark Rose Festival 14-23 October
The Renmark Rose Festival is the biggest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and it celebrates Riverland people, produce and of course roses! In its 22nd year of operation, the two week long Festival began as a dream of two rose enthusiasts wishing to make Renmark known nationally for its roses.
Throughout the two week period, 22 public and private gardens open for viewing across the entire region. Appreciate the blood, sweat and tears locals put into their gardens and not to mention Renmark Council staff who tend to the 3,500 bushes in public spaces.
The program blooms with attractions, demonstrations and events to suit every taste. For example The Riverland Triathlon Club are holding a ‘Rose Run’ along the Renmark Riverfront and local artist, Tim Baulderstone, will be using a chainsaw to carve a huge rose from an old stump!
On the first Saturday of the Festival a fair hosting an array of market stalls is held which signifies the commencement of the Festival. Opened by President of the World Federation of Rose Societies, Mr Kelvin Trimper, it is a great way to experience the Murray River, roses and the local community.
If you are planning to visit over the final Saturday of the Festival, the Gala Dinner is not to be missed. Held on the Renmark Riverfront lawns, the Queen or King of the Rose Festival is crowned and guests enjoy a 2 course meal, created by the Renmark Hotel and support the amazing fundraising efforts of the Festival Ambassadors.

Our tip: make sure you don’t miss the “Ozone Layers” where images are projected onto the outside walls of the Historic Ozone Theatre. Grab a picnic rub and some tasty nibbles and watch the show, nightly 8-9pm.
- Riverland Wine & Food Festival 15 October
The Riverland Wine & Food Festival is the most time effective way to taste wine, beer and cider that is grown and produced Riverland.
On the third Saturday in October the Berri Riverfront turns into a mecca for Riverland produce, fancy frocks and the relaxed atmosphere that can only be described as “Rivertime”.
A great range of Riverland beverage producers and food vendors are represented at the Festival this year. Caudo Vineyard’s mobile Sangria van and The Woolshed Brewery’s pop up bar will be there alongside Dominque Wines fun “Basket Case” range and wine-tails!
Veterans of the Riverland wine industry, Banrock Station will be present, along with newcomers, The Arnold Brothers and their refreshing Lemon Cooler. Jachmann Cider will also be available your enjoyment, their range of ciders a produced solely from apples grown on their Loxton orchard.
It’s not all fancy drinks at the festival, there are fancy pizza’s too from local favourite, Pete’s Pizza! Topping combinations from local produce keep tummies all over the Riverfront happy, our favourite is the mushroom and truffle oil pizza!
The Festival is even adopting 1802 Oyster Bar from Coffin Bay for the day. A perfect pair, South Australia’s best oysters and Kingston Estate’s Pinot Gris!
The Murray River is your backdrop for the day and the grand Moreton Bay Fig Trees watch over festival goers as they soak up live entertainment from Mr Buzzy. It really is a fantastic festival to experience, like something you come to expect in the city but with country atmosphere!
