This event is definitely worth attending if you love roses! Renmark’s Rose Festival started back in 1994 from the collaboration of Eithne Sidhu and David Ruston. It was then known as ‘Rose Week’. The organisers realised this event would bring people together who had a love of roses and demonstrate to those people that Renmark is the Rose Capital of Australia.
The theme this year for the floral displays is 'Let's Celebrate'. The Renmark Institute for 3 days will come alive as floral artists celebrate birth, marriage, anniversaries and death through flowers.
Renmark is famous for its rose beds, consisting of 3,500 bushes, largely planted in single variety beds and stretching from Renmano on Renmark Avenue to the centre of the town and beyond to the hospital, Jarrett Gardens, cemetery, tennis courts and the Visitor Information Centre. There are 51 beds in all. A brochure identifying the town garden roses and Renmark rose walk/drive is available at the Renmark Paringa Visitor Information Centre.
Dates: 16th – 25th October 2015
