OUR AIM AT THE FRAMES IS TO PROVIDE A PRIVATE & LUXURIOUS SPACE WHERE YOU CAN RELAX AND RECONNECT WITH YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER.
It warms our hearts to see our guests so relaxed and happy during their stay and we love reading the reviews YOU leave. Sometimes the reviews provide helpful insight for future guests, just like this one left on our TripAdvisor page, thank you SeppeltsfieldVC!
"This was our second stay at The Frames and it was just as perfect as our previous stay 2 years ago. It is of an international luxury standard, offering anyone who visits an extraordinary experience.
International guests would love it - it is a destination in itself. We were welcomed by Martin who was terrific and introduced us to the retreat (Pastiche) and explained the local experiences we could enjoy. Everything was immaculate and spotless.
No expense has been spared with the facilities and furnishings.
Pastiche has the bedroom and deck overlooking the River Murray. In the morning, the press of a button opens the blinds and sheer curtains.
Another control elevated the bed (which by the way is one of the most comfortable we've ever experienced) to the perfect position to enjoy a cup of tea while watching the pelicans land and take off on the river. All that without moving!!
The provisions are extraordinary. Fresh fruit included the most amazing Riverland blood oranges.
The bathroom is opulent. The shower is huge with a rain shower, massage jets and views right up the river from the full length shower glass window. Massive white fluffy towels, underfloor heating, a sauna, spa and two vanity stations means you could ask for nothing more.
The private, heated pool beckoned throughout our stay but will have to wait for next time!
The three standout local experiences for us were 23rd Street Distillery, Wilkadene Woolshed Brewery and Arrosto Ccafé.
Throughout our stay we kept thinking how perfect this would all be for someone from overseas wanting a quintessential Australian experience. The fabulous hospitality and welcome (yet complemented with exceptional privacy), the magnificence of the River Murray, the indulgence of The Frame's facilities and local food provisions, all combined with experiences such as Wilkadene Woolshed Brewery.
Their amazing range of boutique Aussie beers (including a coffee stout!) and fabulous Red Ruby lemonade (just a little bit alcoholic!) to be enjoyed sitting on the deck overlooking the Murray, surrounded by the history of the Wilkadene sheep station and chatting with the owner Tom, makes for wonderful memories.
The new café in town, Arrosto, is set in an Art Deco Fire Station. The coffee and café setting (indoor and outdoor) would give any Sydney or Melbourne establishment a nudge in the class stakes. An exceptional find in a South Australian regional area - as is The Frames, the river and the whole experience.
Ideally a stay of four to seven days is needed and I'm aware we better do that in the near future, because when the international market realises what we have here, it will be a lot more expensive, which it should be given what it offers. Truly exceptional value. ...and I forgot to mention their private river cruise experiences, the in house chef, the complimentary e-bikes or the pick up from the Mildura airport. The list is endless. This place makes us proud to be South Australian."
